Intro
AST Hampsons was formed in January 2001 by the merger of the firms Atherton Standring Taylor (AST) and Hampsons incorporating Toomey Goodwin & Co.
AST was the product of a merger that took place in 1989 between Athertons, who had practiced in Rochdale since 1968, and Standring Taylor & Co., which was established in 1852.
Hampsons was formed initially as a six partner practice in January 199J by four firms, namely
Hampson & Co, Freer Healy & Co, David Feingold & Co and Brody & Co. In May 1999 Hampsons
merged with the firm Toomey Goodwin & Co to form the practice of Hampsons incorporating
Toomey Goodwin & Co.
In 2003, we amalgamated with Warhurst & Co who had practiced in Bury since 1962. The firm at this office only is known as AST Hampsons incorporating Warhurst & Co.
