International netball challenge

A primary school from The Netherlands is making a special trip to England to
take on three Bury school teams in an international netball tournament on July
4th.

Three Bury Schools: Higher Lane, St Bernadette's and Greenmount will take on
each other as well as a Team from The British School in The Netherlands, Junior
School Diamanthorst.

The competition will take place at Higher Lane Primary School and points will
be scored dependant on whether the match is won, lost or drawn.

All competitors will earn a medal but the team with the most points at the end
will be crowned champions and will receive an engraved trophy. Goody bags will
also be handed out to all of the children who take part.

Councillor Diana Ashworth Executive Member for Children and Young People said:
"It is extremely important for children to mix with a diverse range of young
people and I hope that the pupils from the school in the Netherlands really
enjoy their visit to Bury".
