Learning Vouchers are back by popular demand

Date published: 26/06/2008

A limited number of free Learning Vouchers worth £25 are available to Bury residents aged over 50 through the Age of Opportunities project.

The free vouchers can be used for courses such as cookery, languages or pottery. Courses take place at locations across the borough.

The Learning Vouchers scheme is just one of a wide range of activities operated by the project which aims to provide opportunities and support for the over 50's. The learning voucher scheme previously ran in 2007 and was a huge success with 200 people taking part.

The vouchers will be handed out on a first come first served basis at Bury Adult Learning Centre on Haymarket Street from Monday June 30 and people need to provide proof of age when they pick up the vouchers.

Enrolment for courses in the new course starts on July 14 and the vouchers have to be used by October.31. For more information about the courses available you can pick up a course guide from any Adult Learning Centre or local library.
