Survey to inform new business group

Reporter: Ask Bury
Date online: 08/11/2006

The newly formed Prestwich Village Business Group has circulated a questionnaire to local businesses in Prestwich to find out more about their concerns and issues.

The results of the questionnaire will be discussed at the next meeting of the group which will take place on Wednesday 15 November at 5.45pm, Prestwich Library where the group will identify priorities for action.

Wednesday’s meeting will also consider proposals and ideas for new signage and a village shopping/business guide to promote Prestwich to existing and potential new customers.

Julie Comac of Time for Tea, Bury New Road who is the acting organiser for the new Business Group said: "we need to find out what local traders need and want, and to agree the priorities for action.  This is an opportunity for Businesses to get together and speak as one voice to support and promote Prestwich and carry out initiatives to benefit us all.  Future priorities include the need to tackle the abuse of the Longfield car park and the future of the Longfield Centre.  We need the support of local business to meet on a regular basis and move our ideas and initiatives forward."
