Pimhole’s old scrap yards development was officially opened by the Mayor of Bury and MP David Chaytor last week.

The new section of Pimhole Road was formally adopted as highway on August 6 this year after the completion of £1m scheme funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency, the SRB5 East Bury Initiative, and European funded Bury Business Investment Programme and Bury Council. The area previously referred to as 'Pimhole scrap yard' has now been named as 'Pimhole Business Park' with a new estate sign at the entrance of the area on Pimhole Road.

This is the final scheme from the past five years of close partnership working of the Pimhole Project Steering Group, represented by the business community, residents, Groundwork Bury, the Environment Agency and Bury Council.  Pimhole Business Park Forum has been established as a post project management group to ensure a long-term improvement and management of the business area through partnership workings of all the businesses in consultation with project partners.

Further investment by the private sector businesses have been and will be carried out within the Pimhole Business Park including newly constructed premises at Autosave.

Councillor John Byrne, Executive Member of Environment and Transport said: "The new Business Park is the start of further long term developments for the area and is a significant turning point for the area as a whole bringing new jobs and business for the local people making the Pimhole area a nicer and safer place to live and work."
