Two Bury businesses have been nominated for awards in the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2007.
Ramsons which describes itself as an Anglo Italian eating place and is based in Ramsbottom has been nominated for the Healthy and Sustainable Eating Award
Ramsons Co-owner Chris Johnson said: "I’m really pleased we’ve been singled out as a healthy eating restaurant our philosophy since we bought the restaurant in 1985 has been to serve real food prepared in the restaurant from natural, seasonal and traceable ingredients. . "
Previously known as the Village Restaurant it has been renamed since the introduction of a new chef from the Maldives. Chris was delighted with the nomination and said; "We have a wonderful set of people who regularly patronise our restaurant and have celebrated with many couples and families who have announced engagements, new arrivals and proposals. I’m sure they will all get voting."
Slattery’s which is renowned for its delicious cakes, handmade chocolates and fine dining has been nominated for Coffee Bar and Casual Dining Venue of the year. Slattery’s has not moved far since it planted its roots in Bury in 1991.
