Town Centre Business Forum

Bury Town Centre Forum meeting will take place on Thursday, 30 August at 5pm in the main theatre at the Met on Market Street, Bury.

The focus of the business meeting will be to provide information about the exciting new development at Townside (opposite the Town Hall) which will be starting on site later this year, and will provide new office and health care accommodation together with parking provision. Representatives from the developers will be providing information about current proposals, the programme of development and key milestones.

The meeting will also provide information and a progress update regarding the Rock town centre development scheme. 

The meeting provides an opportunity for town centre businesses to find out more about the developments in and around Bury town centre and what impact they will have on the town centre including pedestrian links, parking, traffic etc.

Bury's new Town Centre Manager, will be introducing herself to local businesses at the Forum and getting to know what issues are currently of concern for town centre businesses.

Ruth Shedwick, Planning Projects Officer said:

 "We are delighted to have a new Town Centre Manager joining the team. This is an exciting time for local businesses and the Town Centre Manager will provide the catalyst in further developing the Bury Town Centre Partnership which links the business community, Bury Council and other agencies, at this exciting and important time when Bury is expanding and developing."

The forum provides an opportunity for businesses to find out what is going on in the town centre which may affect business and provides an opportunity to raise any issues of concern and get involved. All town centre businesses are invited to attend, it's your business and your town centre, so come along and find out more. Other items on the agenda include Christmas lights and retail training opportunities.
