Initiative Continues to Reduce Business Robberies.

Business robberies in Bury have been slashed by 16 per cent in the past 12 months, thanks to the work of police and the introduction of the Raid-control crime prevention initiative.
The Raid-control initiative, which is funded by BurySafe, is part of a project to raise awareness with businesses on what they can do to prevent this type of crime.
Numerous retailers in Bury have been using Raid-control over the past year, but further premises in the Prestwich area have also recently had the systems fitted to reduce their risk of becoming a victim of robbery.
Crime Reduction Advisor, Gaynor Mason said: "Raid-control has shown to reduce the risk of being a target and creates a safer working environment for employees. It consists of training staff in raid awareness and installing a number of measures such as CCTV cameras and time delay systems, as well as ensuring that any cash that may be stolen is easily traceable.
"These measures combined provide an impressive deterrent to would-be robbers and are also capable of capturing evidence to help secure convictions if a robbery goes ahead."
In the run up to Christmas, there is usually an increase in business robbery and a number of high profile policing operations are being run in the area to disrupt and target offenders.
The installation of Raid-control is just one of the initiatives that police in Bury are using to help protect local businesses against robbery, with other measures including business security assessments and regular policing of target premises by PCSOs. However, it is important that retailers remain vigilant and do as much as they can to protect their business and their staff.
Any retailers that would like further advice on crime prevention or Raid-control, should contact Gaynor Mason at Bury Police on 0161 856 8046.
