Job Workshops Offer Opportunities

Reporter: Ask Bury
Date online: 20/02/2008

Four sessions have been organised to help people whose circumstances may be hindering their work choices, such as sufferers of illness or accident, or parents with young children experiencing difficulties finding childcare.

Organised by Bury Council, ADAB (Asian Development Association of Bury) and local employers the workshops offer people the chance to get good advice, find job opportunities and training information direct.

Early Years, Jobcentre Plus, Shaw Trust, and Next Step are just some of the local organisations which will be working alongside local businesses to offer help.

Councillor Yvonne Creswell Executive Member for Community Engagement said: "These events are a great way of targeting members of our community who are struggling to find work right on their doorstep. We are trying wherever possible to organise events throughout the Borough to give people a more realistic chance of getting there and getting help".

The sessions will be held from 9am to 1pm at:

22 February-  ADAB Workcentre, Heywood Street, Bury
29 February-  Y-Zone Youth Centre Radcliffe
07 March -  Mosses Community Centre
14 March - Besses Children's Centre
