Date published: 02/07/2008
Residents in Bent Hill are being encouraged the have a big clear out this
weekend and throw out any unwanted bulky items as well as clean up the area.
The scheme, which has been funded by Prestwich Local Area Partnership, will
provide residents with heavy duty bags, free skips for their waste and there
will also be a team of litter pickers on hand to help spruce up the area.
As well as cleaning up the estate new planting and hanging baskets will be put
up across the estate.
Throughout the weekend local residents will also be encouraged to sign up to
the Bury Streetcare Pledge.
As part of the pledge residents will commit to keeping the land around their
home clean, tidy and litter free and the council will provide them with a free
litter pack as well as a certificate from the Mayor.
The free litter pack includes a high visibility vest, a draw string bag,
protective gloves, a handy hoop for holding open rubbish bags and a litter
picker to help residents keep their local area clean.
