Man charged after fatal RTC

A 21-year-old man was last night, Tuesday 1 July 2008, charged after an elderly lady was killed in a collision with a bus on Bury Bolton Road, Bury.

Shortly after 2.50pm on Tuesday 15 January 2008, police were called to the road at its junction with Mile Lane following reports of the collision.

On arrival officers found that the lady, who was in her mid-80s, had been caught under the bus during the incident.

The woman, who was later identified as Alice Barlow, age 85, of Harrogate Square, Bury, had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carl Enion (born 24/02/1987), of Linden Crescent, Tottington, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and is due to appear at Bury Magistrates Court on 16 July 2008.
