Staff get flower power for local charity
Date published: 01/07/2008
Bury Adult Care staff wore sunshine yellow and took part in a host of
activities, including male leg waxing, on June 27 in a bid to raise some cash
for Bury Hospice.
Based at Castle Buildings in the centre of Bury, this is the second year that
the staff have taken part in fundraisers for the charity, which provides
special nursing and medical care to local people living with a life-threatening
or terminal illness.
Staff also baked cakes and held a 'Sunflower Day Cake Sale' which raised
£146.14, beating the amount raised last year. A raffle, games and the
'sponsored leg wax' also took place in a bid to raise the cash. Bury Hospice
also provided the team with sunflowers to sell to top up their final
contribution.
