M.P.'s back Bury stance on weekly grey bin collection

Bury Conservatives have welcomed the findings of a Cross-Party Committee of M.P's that fortnightly grey bin collections are not suitable for many areas.

Councillor Dorothy Gunther Bury Council's Executive Member in charge of refuse collection said: "I am not surprised that these M.P.'s have agreed with our stance on this issue. We campaigned strongly on this issue throughout the local election campaign and our commitment to maintain weekly grey bin collections received widespread support."

David Nuttall the Conservatives' Parliamentary Candidate for Bury North added "I am pleased that the cross-Party House of Commons Local Government Committee has agreed with Bury Conservatives commitment to maintain weekly grey bin collections. Whilst we are strongly promoting recycling throughout the Borough it is essential that all general refuse is collected regularly."
