Reporter: Ask Bury
Date online: 07/03/2008
Bury Housing Forum is staging its annual general meeting on Thursday 3rd April and is declaring the event "open house’ for anyone who wants to attend.
The meeting will be at Seedfield Training amp; Development Centre, Parkinson Lane, Bury. The forum is led by Bury Council’s Governance, Strategy amp; Quality Team to allow local people to contribute to the development of housing policy across the borough.
As well as an opportunity for people to stand as members of the Housing Forum Steering Group there will be presentations and workshops looking at topics such as Bury’s Housing Strategy Action Plan, discussions on the new topics for next year’s Housing Forums and presentations giving updates on previous Housing Forums such as the Respect Agenda, Empty Properties and the Tenancy Agreement.
Registration for the event opens at 9.30am and the presentations and workshops start at 10am running through until 1pm. Refreshments will be available at registration and mid-morning.
Everyone is welcome at this event including tenants, residents, local businesses and service providers and the aim is for all these groups to have their say and make a real impact on the council’s Housing Strategy and the way services are delivered.
The team are keen for as many people as possible to contribute and discuss the housing issues facing the Borough and invite you to come along and join in on 3rd April. For more information, details on how to nominate someone for the steering group or to book a place please contact Melanie Barratt on 253 6248 or email to housing@bury.gov.uk as soon as possible.
