Bury Busy Bee Lands On Bury Market

The ‘Bury Busy Bee Bus’ Community Transport bus Bee’ is due to ‘land’ on Bury Market on Friday 6 and 13 February to promote the service and encourage more people to try out the service. The bus offers local people the opportunity of group travel, so travelling to the Market to see the bus and talk to its operators could just be the start of your journey.
Community Transport, such as this service, offers local people the opportunity of group travel and makes travelling to the Market much easier for many people.
Bury Community Transport was developed by the Council and GMPTE and commenced operation in July 2007. The service, which is marketed as the ‘Bury Busy Bee’ has been running since July 2007 when , is operated by Bolton Community Transport, Bury Council and GMPTE teamed up to operate the service. The throughout the Bury Busy Beearea and has a dedicated driver and appropriately liveried vehicle. The service currently operates exclusively for group travel for the benefit of Bury residents and over 60 different groups and organisations currently use the service.
For more information about the Bury Busy Bee service groups need to register with the operator by phoning 01204 393777. Lines are open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.Since its inception the service has become successful with over 60 groups or organisations located throughout Bury registered to use the Busy Bee bus. These groups are extremely diverse with some requiring the fully accessible facility it provides. However there are many groups and organisations in the Borough still unaware of its existence and the purpose of visiting Bury Market is to make people more aware of its existence and to encourage greater use of the facility.
The Bury Busy Bee Bus will be on the ‘Golden Mile’ by the Market Square on Bury Market between 9.00am and 4.00pm.
To use the Bury Busy Bee groups need to register with the operator by phoning 01204 393777, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
