Bury remembers the Holocaust with a special service

As part of national events to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Tuesday 27 January, there will be a special memorial service taking place at 7pm at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury Town Hall.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2009 is ‘Stand Up to Hatred’ and a number of events have been organised in local schools and by the Youth Service to reflect this theme.

Fifty young people have been invited to attend the memorial service at Bury Town Hall alongside the Mayor of Bury, local dignitaries and members of the public. Many of these young people will take part in the event by providing reading, musical performances and sharing art work.
