Radcliffe business short listed for China Business Award

James Halstead plc of Radcliffe recently collected an award at the Greater China Business Awards in Manchester in recognition of their work within the country.
The event was held last month and sponsored by International Trade Solutions, UK Trade amp; Investment , China-Britain Business Council and HSBC bank.
The award was open to an individual, company or organisation that has made a significant contribution to developing business or network links with mainland China, Hong Kong or Taiwan during the past year.
The judges were looking for evidence of a direct link between Greater China and the North West of England and the impact this may have had on the business of the candidates.
James Halstead Based at Beechfield, Hollinhurst Road manufacture commercial flooring and export to 60 countries. The company opened its first office in Hong Kong in 1992 and it has expanded every year. Sales over the last 10 years in Greater China including Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, have reached £20 million. In addition to exporting product manufacture in Radcliffe to Greater China, they have a joint venture with a factory in China and export over $25million of flooring product per annum around the world.
The judges were particularly impressed by the commitment to manufacture in both the UK and China, and using this to further their global ambitions
The award was collected by Company Secretary, Mr William Whittaker.
