Bury Art Society is a thriving art group that meets regularly and follows a varied programme of practical painting sessions, lectures and demonstrations covering all media and subject matter. Members of the Bury Art Society work throughout the year preparing for outdoor exhibitions and their annual show held at Bury Art Gallery. A panel of judges awards the Millenium Prize for the best picture in show and the Tommy Valentine Award for the best landscape in the exhibition. Visitors, too, can vote for their best picture. New members are always welcome. Most of the paintings in the exhibition are for sale and would make ideal Christmas presents.
