Part of the national "Heritage Open Days" initiative. Come and explore this stunning Grade II listed church of 1851, by architects Travis & Magnall. The church features splendid Arts & Crafts movement woodcarvings (1899-1920) by Arthur Simpson of Kendal, thought to be the best collection of his ecclesiastical work. Also stained glass by Shrigley & Hunt and Ward & Hughes, and modern glass by Meg Lawrence. Contemporary art by Graeme Willson of Ilkley, and a carved altar and font cover by Dick Reid of York. There will also be an exhibition of embroidery from the church collection, beautiful floral art, music performed at intervals during the weekend, a free guide booklet will be given to all visitors, and children's activities will give something for the whole family to enjoy. All welcome - be prepared to say, "Wow!".
