Win Hill & Ladybower from Castleton - Walk

The outline route for the first part of the walk is Castleton – Hope – Win Hill – Parkin Clough – Ladybower Dam. The southern bank of Ladybower Reservoir is then followed to its end. The remainder of the route is Hope Cross – Hope Brink – Townhead Bridge – Losehill Hall – Hollowford Road – Castleton.

A Look Into the Past - Walk

(A walk through Whitefield Clough following the course of Bradley Brook before crossing the River Irwell via a suspension bridge. It then heads towards Fletchers Canal and the disused aqueduct, thought to be a significant feat of engineering when first built.)

Walks are about 5 miles in length. Note that there may be rough and/or steep terrain.

Black Hill & Crowden Horseshoe - Walk

Park in the car park at Crowden. Run up past the new Youth Hostel and up a path that links to the Pennine way. Follow the Pennine Way all the way up to the trig point at Black Hill. Turn right at the trig point across open moorland and pick up the trail across Tooleyshaw Moss. From here to Westend Moss, then follow the trail back down to Crowden. A demanding fell run, with 1700 feet of climbing.

Manifold Valley - Walk

The walk involves exploring the high ground of Ecton and Wetton hills, visiting Thor's Cave (bring a torch) and dipping in and out of the Manifold Valley. We will walk through the typical white peak villages of Wetton, Brotherton and Grindon, which are collectively known as "the Cathedral of the Staffordshire Moors." The walk starts from Warslow, opposite the Greyhound pub.
