Events in Bury - Town Centre

The next meeting of the Bury East Local Area Partnership will be held in the Peel Room, Town hall, on Thursday 25 March 2010, with a chance to meet Councillors and partner agencies from 6pm, followed by the full LAP meeting at 6.30pm.

On the agenda is a report on the Education results for Bury East for 2009, in comparison with the rest of the Borough and a comparison of results in our attempts to “reduce the gap” in educational attainment.

In addition there will be an update on the Local Community Plan, with successes to date and discussion on how to move the plan forward.

A call for dancers has gone out to singles, couples and groups who want to be part of Radcliffe’s own “Strictly”.

Last year’s event was a huge success, and organisers hope that competitors will sign up now to make this one even better.

The dance-off competition is part of a celebration of music and dance which takes place on Saturday May 1 from noon to 6pm in Radcliffe town centre.

The competition is open to anyone and will be judged by professionals in the trade.

All styles will be welcome - whether ballet or modern, ballroom or Latin, belly dance or cheer-leading, line-dancing or break/urban.

There are categories for groups and single dancers, with a prize for the winner of each category.
